Morgan Stanley Warns Of Impending US Recession

by Jon Holato on December 11th, 2007

In a report entitled “Recession Coming” released today, Morgan Stanley has issued a full recession alert for the US economy. The report warns of a sharp slowdown in business investment and a “perfect storm” for consumers as the housing slump spreads. Additionally, the Morgan Stanley US team said that the credit crunch was starting to inflict serious damage on many US companies.

I can’t say I’m surprised at all by this report. If this takes you by surprise, then you my friend have either been living under a rock or in serious denial for the past six months or so. The value of the US dollar has plummeted, several countries have moved away from the dollar standard and even Jay-Z is storing his earnings in Euros now instead of the dollar.

And you KNOW it’s bad when rappers — who love flaunting around the benjamins — leave Franklin out in the cold.

Let’s hope the recession comes and goes quickly and doesn’t do too much damage to the economy, as my job kind of depends on business investment and spending. :)

  1. You had better move your ass to Western Europe ;)

  2. haha actually that is my plan in a few years, although maybe this will make it sooner rather than later.

my girlfriend has a Polish (well EU I guess) passport ;)

  3. Your girlfriend is a national of Poland, it’s enough to have an ID card. We don’t need passports to cross the borders within EU (but maybe she doesn’t have one?). Okay, I know it will be helpful at airport, I only wanted to show off a little bit :)

Currently my plan in a few years is moving my stuff to Czech Republic. Hmm…

  4. I’m not sure it’s confusing to me. She was born here, her parents were born there (Poland). But she said she has an EU passport? Maybe you can explain how that would work, because I have no idea lol

Funny you mention Czech Republic, that’s one of our three potential moving locations. In no particular order they are: Poland, Prague, and Italy. :)

  5. If her parents are Polish she has Polish citizenship too, no matter on where she was born.

Italy may be a good choice indeed, however making your living in Czech Republic may be much easier. I think I am especially interested in Prague and Brno :)

  6. Ok cool, that makes sense now, thanks for the explanation.

Yea we’re still not sure on where exactly to go, but the good news is my company has offices in Italy, Poland and the Czech Republic!

Maybe I will see you in Prague and we can continue the most beautiful women nationality debate over some beers! haha :)
