Official iPhone Release Date: June 29th

It’s official, finally. The Apple iPhone — perhaps the most anticipated gadget in years — will be available to the public on June 29th; roughly 4 weeks time. That’s not to say you’ll be able to get one then, however, as only about 300,000 are set to ship initially so it will be as tough as it was getting a Nintendo Wii when they first came out, maybe even tougher. Fear not though as reports say Apple will ship 4 million by year’s end — while there may be 300,000 people willing to pay $500 - $600 for this thing, there certainly aren’t 4 million.

The release date was confirmed today via TV commercial. The first reported iPhone commercial ran during 60 Minutes, and also today Apple published three iPhone commercials on their Web site — all stating a June 29 launch date.

Below is the commercial that ran during 60 Minutes:

i think waiting for the iphone is a better idea since they are making 4 million, so by next year, the price of the iphone will most likely be 1/2 of what it is selling for in its first few months of being released..

    be patient :)
