Noah’s Ark Rebuilt 4,000 Years Later
Dutch creationist Johan Huibers unveiled his replica of Noah’s Ark over the weekend, marking the first time anyone has seen the massive ship in roughly 4,000 years. Huibers, as a testament to his faith in the literal truth of the Bible, did most of the work with his hands. Construction first began in May 2005.
Referencing old biblical measurements, Johan’s ark is 150 cubits long, 30 cubits high and 20 cubits wide –two-thirds the length of a football field with the height of a three-story house. The ark is filled with life-size models of giraffes, elephants, lions, crocodiles, zebras, bison and other animals.
Although Johan’s replica is massive, Noah’s Ark as depicted in the Bible is five times bigger. Genesis says Noah kept seven pairs of most domesticated animals and one breeding pair of all other creatures, plus his wife, three sons and three daughters-in-law together on the boat for almost a year while the world was deluged.
Huibers says that he hopes his ark will renew interest in Christianity in the Netherlands, where churchgoing has decreased largely over the last 50 years. I hope Huibers accomplishes this goal and more, as Christianity has been suffering around the world, particularly in European countries and the United States.

Thanks Johan! This may spark the interest you desire and some might even read the real story in the Bible. Critics still don’t get it because they will rely on the world media for their information which is anti Christian.

I am sorry but it is physically impossible to fit two, a male and female of every species of animal on a vessel this big. Even excluding species able to survive in the water. If you can belive this is possible you need to take a basic geometry class. It simply is not possible. I would be more than happy to discuss this in detail.

Headline is incorrect. It should read “Noah’s Ark Built for the First Time Ever”. Try not to confuse myth with fact.
Mike it is certainly possible, as this replica proves. You mistate the facts. First of all, you weren’t there so you don’t know. secondly, and most importantly, the bible doesn’t claim “every male and female of every species.” It claims a pair of “every kind.” A pair of horses, for example, could breed later to result in zebras, donkeys, thoroughbreds, ponies, etc. Also, he did not need to include “species that are able to survive in the water”! Finally, Noah could have taken babies or young adults (as opposed to full-grown adults). It has already been documented to be perfectly reasonable to fit them all on the ark, so your argument is all washed up.
People who think Noah’s Ark really happened are also the people who really believe that every single land based species on earth lived within walking distance of Noah’s house.
Even at 5 times the size of the model you couldn’t fit in all the beetles let alone the mammals as well.
The ark was 300 cubits long, 50 cubits wide, and 30 cubits high. Approximately 450 ft x 75 ft x 45 ft tall. Not EVERY animal had to go on the ark, for instance, all marine life. God had them come to Noah, after all they had plenty of time to get there.
Aside from the fact that detractors weren’t there, it really says something about people to feel compelled to criticize others to make themselves feel…important? adequate? what? Get a life (of your own), please! You will be much happier.
If he is so confident, why doesn’t he remove the steel supports from under the boat?

Why haven’t God simply made them levitate? or breath underwater? or like He did once, walk above the water?
After all, Noah had already proven his faith by building the ark…
and if God would intervene, the Animals wouldn’t even have to go to the ark by themselves.

I live in Atlanta, and right now I am wondering if I could get the plans for this thing. Dont need the animals.
There are a lot of silly comments posted that makes me believe those who are posting negatively are atheist. Let me leave one thought for you to ponder. It is better to believe that there is a loving God who loves and cares about all of us than to die and go to a burning hell for not believing in him. I believe most will agree with me 100%. By believing in Him, you have nothing to lose, but everything to gain. Read your Bible before you talk about something you know nothing about. For those of you who are making the silly comments, I believe they have Never picked up a Bible to search the facts. Read it, or perhaps you are afraid you too might become a believer.
