Here’s another one from the UK, the Daily Mail is reporting that schools are removing the Holocaust from their history lessons in an effort to avoid offending Muslim pupils. Many teachers are hesitant to teach the Holocaust to students who were brought up to believe the Holocaust never took place.

It found some teachers are dropping courses covering the Holocaust at the earliest opportunity over fears Muslim pupils might express anti-Semitic and anti-Israel reactions in class.

In addition, there is a movement against teaching the 11th century Crusades, in which Christians fought with Muslim armies for control of Jerusalem, because what is taught in British schools often contradicts what Muslim pupils learn in mosques (no surprise there).

OK first off, take a minute and let that sink in…

Wow is basically the first thought that comes to my mind after reading this. The fact that a country would dramatically alter the content of its history lessons for fear of offending others seems pretty horrible to me. For starters, history is history, one cannot change it and one can definitely not deny it, especially a European country that lived through World War II. How horrible and cruel and inhumane are you Britain? To turn your back on the worst genocide the world has ever known, a genocide that you fought and struggled through as well (I do recall Hitler and the Nazis bombing London.)

Now let’s focus on the Muslims. If the British Muslims have so much hatred for Jews that they cannot stand to even learn about the Holocaust, that says a lot about the growing extremism in Europe and especially Britain. First it was the Muslim Council of Britain seeking to impose elements of Sharia Law in schools, now it’s Holocaust denial. What will be next? Mandatory prayer to Mecca for all students, even non-Muslims?

This should set off a big, ringing alarm to the British people and the rest of Europe. Fanatical Islam, for lack of a better term, is without a doubt injecting itself into European daily life. I say fanatical Islam because that’s essentially what we’re seeing here. Islam itself and Muslims are peaceful. I live with a Muslim family and guess what, there’s a Jewish temple not even 100 yards away; not to mention the countless Christian religious articles I have displayed around my apartment; clearly Islam is not a religion of hatred and intolerance.

I really hope the British realize the urgency of the situation and act to stop this impediment on not only the sanctity of education, but also to stop giving special treatment to Muslims for fear of terrorist activity. Former British leaders would look upon you with scorn right now.
