I don't think that's the case everywhere in the country, though I wish it was ;) Yes I agree, Islam is actually a very peaceful religion at the heart of it and Americans have a complete misunderstanding because of radical groups. I remember growing up in California there were constantly groups trying to push religious agendas and the democrats (Northern California) would continuously prevent anything from ever materializing. And this is with respect to Christian morals and values, Islam is an entirely different story altogether. Most Americans are highly critical of Muslims because they are afraid of radical Islam. This is not fair to peace-loving Muslims who want only a more opportunistic way of life for themselves and their children by living in America. That being said, it makes it all the more unlikely that anything like the MCB is proposing in Britain could ever make it over here to the US. I think the evangelical Christians, (growing by the day) that you mentioned above, would separate themselves from this notion.
