$30 for 30 Days - Day 6

Wow, it is kind of hard to believe that nearly a week has passed. I still have not spent an additional penny on food since the trip to the grocery store, however I lucked out over the weekend with a few free meals from Carin’s family. Today at work was tough though. After a rough night last night I neglected to pack a lunch and my stomach definitely punished me for it. Come 10am I was starving, my stomach was beginning to eat itself. I was trying to up the nicotine dosage to help in suppressing my attempt, however the effect was only limited. A co-worker tried to convince me to just go out and get some food, but I held firm. Fortunately several people in the office had breakfast meetings this morning, and come lunchtime I was able to scrounge up half of a muffin that was leftover and eat that for lunch.

For dinner I made Ramon noodles and a cup of rice and Carin and I split each of them. I felt pretty full and it was definitely fulfilling after being hungry all day. I’m starting to feel a little hunger now but with bedtime on the horizon a little liquid should do the trick in holding off the appetite until tomorrow.

Marc and David suggested I purchase a carton of eggs (which they claim I can find on sale somewhere for $1) to mix in with the rice. They said if I crack an egg over freshly cooked rice and mix it up that it can produce great flavor, which is sounding nice right about now. Brian and Vinny ate Subway for lunch in front of me today and thinking back to cold cut combos and subway clubs made my mouth water, and is continuing to do so now so I’m going to bring this entry to a halt.
