New Jersey Transit bites the dust…again

by Jon Holato on November 21st, 2006

I’m on the train to work right now, thanks for broadband anywhere verizon aircard :) , and my New Jersey Transit train has no heat or light throughout the entire train due to what they’re calling “mechanical problems.” For starters, aren’t they supposed to have a technician on every train. I recall past problems over the summer when the air conditioning would be out and they would stop the train to fix it. But since today is the coldest its been all year why fix the heat? Let the people suffer, those same people who we already rip off beyond imagination with outrageous fares. Oh and while I’m at it, let’s not forget last week’s mayhem when there were a few sprinkles lingering about, and 9, yes 9 trains in a row were delayed over an hour and a half period. Meanwhile, once you get on the train all you hear is the conductor and other train personnel complaining about how poor their working conditions are. I think this company needs a serious overhaul to get back on the right track, if they had any competition they’d be out of business.
